In 1999, Ladner’s little vacuum shop opened. Previous owners Steve and Tammy Laughlin served this wonderful community for 19 years. They passed the torch to us, Karen and Paul, in November of 2018. We were welcomed by existing and new clients alike. Lovely community, Lovely people and a great place to own a family-run, pet-friendly business.
“In the next few months, Vacuum Works will be locating a few doors down from its present location to allow for an expansion of services. Along with that will come a new website and a new name.”
At the time of taking over the shop, we merged our other business specializing in smart home, home theatre and home automation which played a big part in the business expansion from Vacuum Works to Vacuum Works PLUS. We had our eyes set on a larger space just down a few doors to have an interactive showroom to display all aspects of our business.
Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain this space from the landlord, so we had to look outside of Ladner where we found this new space at Tsawwassen Commons Shopping Mall.
Then, COVID-19 hit us hard on us, as with many small businesses, we felt worried about our future. We had a vision and a much-needed service to offer Delta residents. So, we persevered with the support of our customers, friends, and neighbours. We are so happy we never gave up.
Our new space is going to be bright and spacious featuring our iconic green from our logo. As time allows, we will showcase our products in an interactive way, once social distancing is no longer in play.
We look forward to serving residents of Delta in our new store for years to come! We will be working hard to settle in and reopen!
